Holiday Gift Ideas

Every year, as the holidays come, I feel like we are toning back the extravagance + embracing the simplicity. From decorations, to gifts, to busyness, I just find myself craving the simple things. I know that gift giving is a big part of the festivities so I wanted to give ideas for gifts that are intentional, usable + not just adding to the clutter.

Check Out These Gift Ideas The Whole Family Will Enjoy!

Gifts For The Kids:

Young:

I love love love these glass cups, metal plates + metal water bottles. One quick google search will show you the dangers of plastics + yet until recently I had a really hard time finding safer alternatives for kids in the kitchen + these cups transition with the kids, you can add a bottle top, then transition to sippy cup, lid with straw + open cup. We have also enjoyed this Little Helpers Toddler Cookbook.

Books, Books, Books! You really can’t go wrong with books. I’ll list a few of my faves to read to my kiddos when they were little, but there are so many good options out there. Little Blue Truck, You’re Here For a Reason, Wherever You Are My Love Will Find You (or really anything by Nancy Tillman) The Jesus Storybook Bible, Sick Day for Amos McGee, Bear Snores On, Giraffes Can’t Dance.

This adorable kids diffuser, Snowy the Owl, or this whole kit with kidscents oils + a diffuser. The thing I love about this diffuser is, it has a sound machine + nightlight, along with the calming benefits of aroma therapy! Makes getting the kids to sleep so much easier! Sleepyize is one of our faves in the diffuser for bedtime.

Here’s some fun toys for the little ones that are also good for sensory + learning, geo board, wooden tool kit, wooden play food, inchimals measuring + counting blocks, balancing animal blocks, wooden shape sorting puzzles, bees wax crayons, themed sensory kits + these adorable journey to Bethlehem peg dolls.

Elementary Kids:

Kids love to be helpful in the kitchen, here’s some great kitchen tools so they can help safely, knife set, Chef Junior Cookbook, Nourishing Traditions Cookbook for Children + for on the go, bento box + metal water bottles.

Books again of course! Depending on your child’s age + reading levels, this category can vary greatly. I will hold onto picture books as long as I can, so those are always a great option for younger elementary. My suggestion is to look at what you have on your shelf + ask if there’s anything missing. I want my kids to be exposed to different cultures + people of all colors, so I try to find books that let them experience a life different than their own. There are really too options to list, but I’ll give a few…The Color of Us, Kitchen Dance, Fry Bread, Under My Hijab, Same, Same But Different, Leila of Saffron, The Most Beautiful Thing, Mae Among the Stars. One of my new favorite things is reading chapter books aloud to my kids. I have read through the whole Little House Series, with my 6 year old + we are starting in on the Chronicles of Narnia. Here’s a few more that I have on my list for the future, The Green Ember Series + Anne of Green Gables. And here are some that are good series for when the kids are ready to read chapter books on their own, Ranger in Time, Magic School Bus Chapter books, Imagination Station, The Boxcar Children, I know there’s many more, we just haven’t gotten to this phase yet in our house.

My kids love oils! Last year I got them their own roller bottles of KidPower + they were soooo excited! They also like having their diffusers in their rooms as listed above in the little kids section. The GeneYus blend is great for helping kids focus, so could be great for school + studying. The KidSents Roll-on collection would be a great gift for kids to keep in their backpack so they always have the tools they need for emotions, focus, tummy support, owies + more.

Subscription Boxes. There are so many great subscription boxes out there. Some require a monthly order, but a lot you can order an individual activity box without a subscription + often they’re cheaper because they are from previous months. Here’s some of our favorites, Little Global Citizens, Hola Amigo Box, Kiwi Crate, The Bible Crate, Raddish Kids.

Consider other out of the box ideas like magazine subscriptions, art kits, bedding or room décor, lessons for a sport they enjoy, memberships to local attractions, outings to places like the zoo, bowling, minigolf, gold panning, trampoline park, ice skating, kids adventure parks, a farm or, even plan a family trip.

Gifts For Her:

Back to the kitchen again! The last few years I’ve been going through my kitchen + slowly switching out harmful toxic items for safer ones, some of them are small things like wooden cooking utensils + some have been an investment like stainless steel pots + pans. Here’s a few others that I love, glass storage containers, glass mixing bowls, cutting boards, instant pot, instant pot cookbook, nourishing traditions cookbook + my favorite cookbook that makes meal planning so simple.

Books that I’ve been loving, or that are on my wish list: The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, The Well Watered Woman, Awake, Joy!, Declutter Like a Mother, One Thousand Gifts, Gentle Babies, The Whole + Healthy Family, Call of the Wild + Free, Mothering by the Book, I Am Not a Grasshopper.

Here’s some other random things I love, this necklace, CBD roller, Beauty Boost Serum, diffuser, sleep mask, my top two fave oils of all time frankincense + northern lights black spruce, beautiful roller bottles, adorable oil carrying bags, subscription to abide bible prayer meditation app, this parenting course, serenity now collection, this charcoal face mask, Progessence Plus for hormone support.

Gifts for Him:

Since we listed kitchen gifts for everyone else, why stop now! This grill brush, grilling basket, smoker barrel, counter top compost bin are great ideas.

Books for the guys! Some of these were in my list, but great for the guys too. Fail Until You Don’t, I Am Not a Grasshopper, Soundtracks, The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry.

Other random things for the guys…life straw for out door adventures, financial peace university, yeti tumblr, water bottle, shutran oil, bar soap, shave cream, after shave, car diffuser, beer of the month club, streaming services, memberships or punch cards to a gym or sporting facility, tickets to a concert or sporting event.
